The veteran organizations of Nashua are announcing two new patriotic ceremonies to be held in 2024. The first will be Independence Day, July 4. The ceremony will be held at City Hall at 9 a.m. It will consist of the reading of the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence and the raising of the Betsy Ross 13-star flag. There will be an address by the mayor and other public officials.

The second ceremony will be for 9/11. The ceremony will be held on Sept. 11 at the Fire and Rescue Headquarters on East Hollis Street at 9 a.m., where the memorial is located. The ceremony will consist of placing a wreath at the monument and the reading of the President Bush’s’ address to the Nation. The mayor and other dignitaries will speak. The firing detail will fire a rifle salute and a bugler will sound Taps in honor of those who perished that day.
