With a stream of concert announcements sweeping across the Granite State, there’s one pressing question: Do you prefer a head-banging, fist-pumping frenzy or would you rather sway and gently wave a cell phone overhead?
So far, 2024 is shaping up be an interesting mix, with venues small and large bringing in diverse artists and musical moods, from slow-burning to stadium shaking.
Either way, get your tickets as early as possible — things sell out quickly — and consider comfortable shoes to aid in possible fan fever and two hours of jumping up and down.
It’s Nothin’ But a Good TimeThe latest show added to the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion’s summer lineup in Gilford is one of the shows designed to get people screaming the lyrics.
It’s part of the Parti-Gras 2.0 tour, which is set to visit the Lakes Region on Saturday, Aug. 31.
The ringleader is Bret Michaels, known for his solo work and as front man of the glam metal band Poison (“Talk Dirty to Me,” “Every Rose has Its Thorn,” “Nothin’ But a Good Time”).
He’s brought in a standout lineup that includes Don Felder, formerly of the Eagles (“Hotel California,” “Take it to the Limit”); Lou Gramm, the original voice for Foreigner (“Urgent,” “Juke Box Hero,” “Hot Blooded,” “Cold as Ice”); and Dee Snider of Twisted Sister (“We’re Not Gonna Take It,” “I Wanna Rock”).
The ride through classic and ’80s-era rock and metal gets a country vibe with Chris Janson (“All I Need is You,” “Buy Me a Boat”) on the bill.
His latest release is the “Outlaw Side of Me” — and in case you’re not already in the club, his fans are known as Janson Junkies.
General ticket sales for the Live Nation show begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15.
One more note before leaving the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion: Dierks Bentley just signed onto the summer lineup as well.
Named after his 10th studio album, the Gravel & Gold tour will play there at 7 p.m. Thursday Aug. 15.
Bentley is delivering some new takes on bluegrass, country and Americana music.
Chase Rice and Randy Rogers Band are set to open that night.
Don’t call The PoliceGuitarist Andy Summers, who was part of the meteoric rise of The Police in the 1980s (“Every Breath You Take,” “Roxanne,” “Don’t Stand So Close to Me,” “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” and “Message in a Bottle”) is bringing one of his solo projects to the Nashua Center for the Arts on Sunday, June 9.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame artist will be sharing music, projecting his photographs over the stage, doing readings from his books and sparking conversations with the audience.
