To the Editor: There is quite the to-do over the immigration crisis at the border. Let’s remember why these thousands of people are walking hundreds of miles to get to America: they are fleeing countries led by dictator-like governments.
If Trump wins the election he has promised us that he will be a dictator on day one. We should take heed to this bully, liar, charged with 91 indictments, impeached twice, insurrectionist. He speaks daily of how much he hates America and all the changes he will make to get his revenge on the people, the system, the Constitution. Have you ever heard him once say one thing he loves about America?? He packed the courts that took away women’s rights over their bodies. Wait until he takes more of our rights away.
When it is our turn to flee our dictator, I hope we are treated more humanely than we are treating these immigrants. Let’s hope we are not bused to foreign cities we know nothing about, with no clothes for the change in weather, no food, nowhere to sleep, no way to work and earn a living, etc.
If SCOTUS does not enforce Amendment 14 now, they will go down in history for their responsibility of America going from a Democracy to a Dictatorship. It is NOT up to the voters to enforce the Constitution, it is the job of SCOTUS; they took an oath to uphold our Constitution.
No candidate is perfect; only one promises to end our Democracy.
