The Manchester Monarchs, playing a home game at The Rinks at Exeter, received a goal from Pierre-Luc Mercier 2:16 into overtime to beat the Newfoundland Growlers 2-1 on Friday night in Game 5 of the ECHL North Division finals.

The win enabled the Monarchs to pull within 3-2 in the series and force another game on Monday night in Newfoundland. A Game 7, if necessary, is set for Tuesday night, also in Newfoundland.
